Effect of Biochar Amendments on the Co-Composting of Food Waste and Livestock Manure

The global increase in population will result increased food production which can, turn, lead to excessive waste. Although composting is widely adopted for the conversion of organic waste into value-added products, there are several limitations, such as its lower efficiency without co-composting, loss nutrients, and emission greenhouse gases. Due renowned characteristics, biochar amendments used during overcome these issues; each should be at an appropriate level yield good quality compost with high nutrient levels. In this study, we co-composted chicken swine manure varying proportions presence absence identify ideal proportion raw material biochar. Physicochemical parameters pH, EC, temperature, bulk density, porosity, C:N ratio, gaseous emissions were analyzed. results showed that desired was obtained treatment 5% 40%, 20%, 20% waste, manure, respectively, 15% sawdust.
